Our Mission
The Chosen to Serve Foundation is dedicated to honoring and empowering family caregivers. We provide essential resources, advocacy, and community support to improve their quality of life and recognize their vital role in compassionate care.
Meet the Founder
Dr. Lamesa Danzey
"Turning personal experience into purpose and support for family caregivers."
When I became the primary caregiver for my father during his illness, I quickly realized that family caregiving is both an act of love and one of life's greatest challenges. While caring for him, I experienced the emotional, physical, and mental demands that so many caregivers face every day. I often searched for answers, resources, and encouragement, only to discover that many caregivers were navigating the same journey alone.
That experience inspired me to establish Chosen to Serve Foundation.
Our foundation was created to ensure that family caregivers have access to the resources, education, and support they need to care for both their loved ones and themselves. We believe caregivers deserve recognition, encouragement, and opportunities to recharge while continuing their important work.
Through Chosen to Serve Foundation, we provide:
Educational Lunch & Learn programs
Caregiver recognition events
Wellness and stress-relief activities
Training and caregiver resources
Respite grants for eligible unpaid family caregivers
Because I have walked this journey myself, our mission is deeply personal. My hope is that every caregiver who connects with Chosen to Serve Foundation feels supported, valued, and empowered.
Together, we are building a community where no caregiver has to walk alone.
